The excitement increased with each goal. The students ages 5 to 11 watched the World Cup at Tierra del Fuego.

Even though they weren't even born the last time Argentina won the World Cup in 1986, this story was almost the same in many schools in Argentina.

I love it. It was great. We were better than Germany, says this girl. When asked who is their favorite player, they had no doubts, Riquelme, says this boy. Javier Saviola, says this other one, because I have his T-shirt, and for me, Messi, adds a third one, because he plays very well. After a long debate and many students skipping classes anyway, the schools were allowed to show the game. The Ministry of Education gave schools a 47-page study guide suggesting that the World Cup be used as a learning opportunity.

The kids were investigating, they did the flags, learned the capital cities of the countries competing in the games, everything related to the World Cup, says this teacher. Catamarca was the only province in Argentina that did not allow the schools to show the game.

And powered by this victory, Argentina will face Holland next Wednesday. Once again, the passion for this game will alter the school's routine.

At the end of the game, many followed a local tradition---gather around the Río Negro, a symbol that has made Buenos Aires famous around the world.

I'm Canadian and I am so excited for Argentina. It's wonderful for the country. It's a great day for Argentina.

Nobody in the World Cup makes 6 goals. It's a satisfaction, says this man. Argentina made history in Germany with that score, gave them their second win and put them in the round of 16,without doubt, another reason to celebrate.
