谁是商界女强人?(在线收听

What connects three companies that produce soft drinks, photocopy machines and quite frankly nothing at all? Women executives, Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Women In Business is now on newstands. And here is a look at the top three.

NO.1 is Indian-born Indra Nooyi, she is PepsiCo's recently appointed Chief Executive, just the fifth in the company's history. Nooyi oversees an empire that makes everything from Gatorade to Life Cereal to Doritos. These snacks helped PepsiCo rake in more than 32 billion dollars in revenue last year. Nooyi climbed to the top spot after serving as Pepsi's chief financial officer and president. She is now one of just 11 female CEOs leading a Fortune 500 company.

Xerox remains a household name, thanks in large part to the work of Anne Mulcahy. "I am very big on profitability and I'm big on change". Mulcahy took over Xerox five years ago when the company was more than 13 billion dollars in debt and its stock was sinking. She sold assets, cut expenses, and spent considerable time listening to her customers and employees. The result: Xerox's stock quadrupled under her watch.

E-bay CEO Meg Whitman is listed as the third most powerful woman in business. "We're still about blazing a trail? But as you know, many of the companies that were around in 1999 did not succeed". Under Whitman's direction, eBay acquired the online payment company PayPal, announced an advertising partnership with Yahoo! and expanded its global presence to more than 30 countries. e-Bay has also raked in money in 2005, tallying a net revenue of more than 6 billion dollars.
