 Leading the news this morning, the Senate has agreed to bring back temporary protection visas. The bill was finally passed early this morning by 34 votes to 32. In a deal to secure a cross-bench support, the government has agreed to release children from detention on Christmas Island and increased the refugee intake over next four years.

Mick Gould is about to release his annual report card on indigenous affairs. He says there’s been a 50% jump in the number of Indigenous people going to jail over the last five years.
 
And NASA has delayed the launch of its Ryan Space Capsule. The count-down was interrupted at several times because both came too close. There were high winds and technical problems. The unmanned test flight has been rescheduled for late tonight.
