Rachel Lee : Well, the unemployment rate holds steady at 4.7%, new hiring has slowed significantly. 138,000 new jobs were created last month. Still economist Fred Dickson with Economic Insights says it's a solid report.

Fred Dickson : Strong wage growth, half a percent in the given month, the best wages in terms of growth in four and a half years, we increased the average work week. So, I think overall, it suggests that the economy is pretty strong.

Rachel Lee : Despite the weak job creation, President Bush celebrated the steady unemployment rate and the health of the economy, calling on Congress to keep taxes low to ensure economy growth.

George Bush : Raising taxes will hurt small businesses; raising taxes will hurt consumers; raising taxes will particularly affect working people, now that the price of gasoline has gone up.

Rachel Lee : The jobs report comes as President Bush's job approval rating has deteriorated.

Rachel Lee : Times were a lot different the last time the Dow Jones Industrial Average got this high. With a 138 point gain, the Dow was just 145 point shy of its all time high, nearly 11723 set in January 2000.

Rachel Lee : DaimlerChrysler is recalling 45,000 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum sedans. Brake fluid could leak and lead to an engine compartment fire. Almost 7,000 Jeep Wranglers are also recalled because of potential problems with the clutch.

Rachel Lee : It seems that good ship lollipop is made up of lead, The Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) is recalling jewelry that came with some movie DVDs. Spokeswoman Patty Davis.

Patty Davis : we're recalling the medal charms that were a free giveaway with certain Shirley Temple DVDs. The recalled charms contain high levels of lead and lead is toxic to young children if it is ingested."
