Masked demonstrators vandalized shop fronts and clashed with riot police in Mexico City Monday night. The violence followed the peaceful protest over 43 students who disappeared in police custody in September.

 

Extremists from Somalia killed 36 quarry workers in northern Kenya early Tuesday, targeting non-Muslims. Officials say the killings happened near the Somalia border and that the attackers escaped.

 

A safari park in south China's Guangdong province showcased 5 generations of Australian koalas to visitors Monday. Chimelong safari park has nutured as many as 50 koalas over the last 8 years and has become the second most successful park to raise that animal after Australia.
