President Barack Obama was greeted with an elaborate welcome in India, Sunday. At a news conference, Obama and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi say they have achieved a breakthrough on civilian nuclear trade.
 
The northeastern United States is bracing for a massive snowstorm that could bring up to two feet of snow in some places. National weather service meteorologists say the storm will start edging into the region overnight then turn up the coast, hitting areas from NewYork to Boston, the hardest with blizzard-like conditions.
 
Actress and United Nations special envoy Angelina Jolie visited a refugee camp in northern Iraq Sunday. Jolie called more international aid to help the refugees displaced as a result of the fighting in Iraq and Syria. She said despite good intentions, the international community is failing in its efforts.
 
And balloons, not doves, were released as a gesture of peace Sunday in St. Peter’s Square. A year after an attack by a seagull and a crow on the symbolic birds sparked protests by animal rights groups.
