Residents across the northeast corridor are preparing for a record snowstorm set to hit Monday night. Officials issued states of emergency from New York to Connecticut as regions anticipate up to at least 2 feet of snow.
 
U.S. coast guard stepped in as a plane ran out of fuel when flying from Kuai to Oahu. The single engine plane, with 4 passengers aboard, ditched into the sea 11 miles off shore. Officials say all 4 were treated with undisclosed injuries.
 
Indonesian rescue teams struggled to lift off the fuselage from the crashed Air-Asia jet plane in the Java Sea. A rope lining the lifting balloons broke on Sunday leaving the wreckage to sink back into the ocean floor. Most of the victims' bodies are believed to be still inside.
 
And the White House got a surprise landing after secret service agents discovered a 2-foot quad copter on the north lawn. White Officials say it posed no threat as President Obama and the first lady were overseas in India.
