In New England, snow plow operators are having trouble keeping up with the snow that’s been falling overnight and into Tuesday. While the blizzard packed a lighter than expected punch in NewYork City, the Boston area is already recording more than a foot and a half of snow.
 
In Libya, officials see gunmen stormed a luxury hotel in Tripoli, killing at least five foreigners and three guards. Amateur video captured the scene with flames and smoke engulfing the hotel.
 
In London, a long awaited inquiry into a mysterious death of former Russian spy Alexander Litivinenko opened. New revelations point to evidence that the KGB spy who later became a Kremlin critic may have been poisoned not once, as authorities initially thought, but twice.
 
In honor of Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, Oral Robert University tried to break a world record for popping bubble wrap. KTUL-TV reports 1134 people took part in Monday’s attempt, official results still pending.
