1. In Alexandria of Virginia opening arguments were heard Monday afternoon in the sentencing phase for Al-Qaida soldier Zacarias Moussaoui's trial. Moussaoui could receive the death penalty or life in prison.
2. The governor of South Dakota signed a bill Monday that bans most abortions. It's expected the legislation won't take effect unless the courts uphold it.
3. Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, the man charged with 9 counts of attempted murder and assault, had his bail set at 5,500,000 dollars. Authorities say Taheri-azar drove a SUV into a crowd of people on purpose at the University of North Carolina. Taheri-azar had allegedly said that he wanted to avenge the deaths of Muslims around the world.
4. A school bus with a dozen students on board careened off a hillside and smashed into a house in Pittsburgh Monday morning. 4 children and the bus driver were taken to a hospital, but it's believed that their injuries are minor.
