CCTV9英语新闻：长江沉船遇难人数升至434人 失踪人员还剩8人（在线收听）

We begin with the search operations on the Yangtze River after a Chinese cruise ship capsized with hundreds of passengers last week. Only 14 people survived.

Two more bodies were found on Monday morning, bringing the number of deaths to 434. 8 people remain unaccounted for. 

Search teams are extending their scope, with thousands scanning a 1,400 kilometer area along the river. Two helicopters are also deployed.

Military forces are working at the wreckage site, handling the victims' remains, as well as disassembling the damaged ship and taking measures to prevent any epidemic outbreaks.

The civil affairs ministry is coordinating work such as helping the relatives, identifying the dead through DNA testing and arranging funeral services. About 1,500 family members of the victims are now in Jianli County near the site of the disaster.
