 Leading our news this morning - the bodies of Bali Nine pair Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have arrived in Jakarda for repatriation to Australia in the next couple of days. The men were executed by firing squad yesterday. And Australia retaliated by recalling its ambassador to Indonesia for consultations in the middle of a growing debate about death penalty. ‘I do get approached by people saying, well, that it might be your view that you don’t support the death penalty, but it’s not our view. And I find that rather startling at times. I think that the discussion that we’re having about the others we should also be carrying out domestically.’ Barnaby Joyce on Lateline last night.

There is a growing frustration in Nepal about the slow pace of relief efforts after the weekend’s massive earthquake. There are near-riots as thousands of people try to flee the capital Kathmandu that may face diseases and more aftershocks. The death toll stands at more than 5000. 
Emergency crews in New South Wales are preparing for more flooding at the weekend. Heavy rain is forecast in the Northern New South Wales and Queensland’s South-East. Up to 400mm of rain is expected to fall in the region in the coming days.
