CCTV9英语新闻:等待的家属辨认亲人的尸体(在线收听

Some family members are still waiting to identify the bodies of their loved ones.

The hotels in Jianli county in Hubei province are full of family members rushing in from all over the country. Some have been waiting here for days, waiting for the DNA matching processes to identify their loved ones. A wait that is agonizing for many.

"We found some people yesterday who couldn’t get much sleep. Because when they heard news that some other families had a DNA match, they felt anxious and worried," said Dr. Wu Weiwen, Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital.

Every day, Doctor Wu Weiwen and Doctor Wang walk inside the hotel, giving mental support to families in sorrow and offering necessary medicines to those who suffer from high blood pressure and insomnia.

To many family members of victims, they have never heard of this place before. Now, they will never forget this place. What they need now is care and help, because now is the most difficult time for them.

Wang Yilei lost her father. She's been in Jianli for more than a week, and hasn’t yet found him. They decided to use their compensation money to help others.

"People here had offered us many help, we are really moved. We think we should do something to help them too. I lost a family here. We think we could find another family," said Jin Weifeng, one victim's family member.

While many are returning home with the ashes of their loved ones, there are still hundreds of victims waiting to be identified.
