CCTV9英语新闻:Family members bring back belongings of loved ones(在线收听

Relatives of the victims are re-claiming some small tokens of their lost loved ones, as items found and verified by search teams are being returned. Volunteers are also helping family members cope with the final remains.

The doll of a 3-year-old girl, the ticket for the Eastern Star... all the victims' belongings have been collected and cleaned.

Each item is labeled with a sequence of numbers, the owner's name, and the location where it was found.

This camera belongs to Xiang Guangping's wife who was a photo enthusiast.

"They read the SD card in the camera and found out it was my wife's. Photos of us together and our little grandson...they're all on the card," said Xiang Guanping, one victim's husband.

Xiang says he and his wife were both avid photographers and always went out to shoot together.

"Her masterpieces were really great. She even applied for membership in the Jiangsu Photographers' Association. But she will never know the result now," he said.

The photos on the camera recorded the entire journey -- from the Eastern Star setting sail, to the last dusk on that fateful night.

"It's lucky they found her camera, it was her favorite. Though she is not here, our memories are. I'll miss her," Xiang said.

Though their loss can never be filled, these small items once held by their loved ones, give Xiang and the other vicitm's families something to hold on to.
