Senators are expected to hand President Obama a major victory with final passage of fast track authority to negociate trade deals. Senate approval would boost his hopes for a 12-nation Pacific rim trade agreement. Much of the Northeast is cleaning up from severe rainstorms. Tens of thousands of people were without power Tuesday night in Connecticut.
Wildfires are tearing through some hot, drought-stricken areas of the West. In northern California, a fire south of Lake Tahoe has grown to more than 25 square miles.
And in China, newborn panda twins born earlier this week have met the public. The girl cubs, said to be in good condition, are already attacting fans.
