 This is AP News Minute. 1. Three Americans are being hailed as heroes after helping foil a possible terrorist attack on a high-speed train bound for Paris. US Airman Spencer Stone recalled subduing the assailant who was armed with various guns and a box cutter. Stone told the reporter he was able to choke the man unconscious as his friends took down the gunman. 2. Former President Jimmy Carter made his first appearance at a church service in Georgia following his first round of radiation therapy for brain cancer. Carter told a crowd of church how his condition was progressing and he said he will be pulling back from his various roles. The former president announced that cancer in his liver has spread to his brain at a press conference last week. 3. Clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli troops in the West Bank town of Beit Jala, a Christian village next to Bethlehem after Sunday mass. Palestinians are protesting against the construction of the separation barrier and the uprooting of trees by Israeli bulldozer. 4. And the National Zoo’s panda popsy keeps growing as Mei Xiang * her second late Saturday evening. The giant panda gave birth to twins after a successful artificial insemination at the DC zoo. Veterinarians are helping the new mom out with her twins by putting off babies with hand rearing.
