This is AP news minute. 1. President Obama has serial events this week, meant to address concerns about his strategy for assaulting the Islamic state group and its possible followers in the U.S. He has plans to visit the national counterterrorism center and the Pentagon. 2. Southern California police are investigating vandalism at two mosques as hate crime. Graffiti was spray-painted at both locations and the device looks like a hand grenade with left at one. 3. A typhoon hit the Philippine on Monday. Thousands residents were evacuated from area in the eastern part of the country ahead of the storm. 4. And rain and snow fell on much of the west coast over the weekend.  Moist weather is forecasted to the west in the coming month due to the EI Nino weather system.
