3. The mother of a fugitive teenager known for using an “affluenza” defense in a fatal drunk driving wreck has been released from a Texas jail. Tonya Couch was released on bond and was charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon for allegedly helping her son Ethan flee to Mexico. 
 
4. Officials in India say more than 80 whales are stranded off the country’s southern coast. At least 36 of the mammals had been rescued and released back to sea.
