 Thanks, Paul. A bushfire is threatening lives and homes south of Perth in Western Australia. Warrona and Hamel around 100 kilometers south of Perth have been evacuated. An emergency warning is also in place for nearby Preston Beach. The fire was started by lightning strike almost 24 hours ago. 

 
The UN Security Council has vowed to take more steps against North Korea following its claims of a hydrogen bomb test. The White House says initial information suggests the North Korea explosion was a nuclear test but not a full hydrogen bomb as claimed. The Australian Foreign Minister Julia Bishop says it’s likely the North Korean regime is overstating its nuclear capabilities. 
 
“It’s not yet been established that it was a hydrogen or firm nuclear bomb as North Korea claims. It does have a history of exaggerating its technological powers.”
 
A severe weather warning has been cancelled in New South Wales but some communities are still threatened by rising floodwaters. Emergency crews hoped to rescue 21 campers including five children who were stranded in the dual national park in the state’s south overnight.
 
And a Brisbane grandfather remains in hospital under police guard after his two-month old daughter was stabbed to death. The baby died and three other family members were wounded in their shocking domestic dispute yesterday afternoon. The baby’s mother and grandmother are now fighting for their lives in hospital.
