29 A Seaside Picnic
One morning last April, Joan was lying in bed when the telephone rang. It washer friend, Dave, who invited her out for a picnic at the seaside.
Later that day she left her flat and walked to the bus stop to catch the bus.
Joan was wearing a T-shirt and skirt as it was quite hot. As she sat on thebus she looked out of the window. The sun was shining. She saw a plane goingover a forest and some horses in the fields.
Before long she arrived at the seaside and met Dave. They went down to thebeach and had their picnic next to a rock. They had sandwiches and crisps, andDave painted a picture. They had a lovely day.
