 1. 45 year-old Jason Dalton made a court appearance on Monday, following a series of random shootings across Kalamazoo on Saturday. Prosecutors charged Dalton with 6 counts of murder and 2 counts of attempted murder. He was denied bail. 

 
2. The U.S and Russia on Monday agreed on a new ceasefire for Syria that will take effect on Saturday. President Obama and Russian president Putin spoke on telephone, regarding the implementation of ending the hostility. 
 
3. Jury selection began Monday in the case involving sportscaster and TV host Erin Andrews. Andrews filed the 75 million dollars lawsuit against the franchise owner and manager of the luxury hotel, and the man who admitted to making nude secret recordings of her in 2008. 
 
4. And a service to commemorate the fifth anniversary of a deadly earthquake in the New Zealand city of Christchurch turned ugly on Monday when someone threw an unidentified substance over the government minister responsible for earthquake recovery efforts. Police arrested a 41-year old man and charged him with the assault.
