Hillary Clinton, who briefly took the stage after president Obama lavashed praise on her Wednesday, will accept the Democratic nomination and give the final speech of the night at the Democratic national convention. Clinton will take the stage after being introduced by daughter Chelsea.

3 law enforcement officers who were shot and killed in the line of duty on July 17th were remembered during a vigil in Baton Rouge. Among those attending, vice president Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Lousiana governor John Bel Edwards.

According to the military, 5 US soldiers have been wounded in clashes with Islamic State fighters in eastern Afghanistan. The military says the casualities occurred over the last few days and none of the injuries were life-threatening.

About a dozen lions, tigers and other big cats are back home at Los Angeles sanctuary days after they were evacuated due to a fast-moving wildfire. Hundreds of wild animals were evacuated last weekend and more are due to come home over the next few days.
