1. Former cabinet member and Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson made it official today he is running for president in no wait. He calls himself the "reliable conservative". Thompson was Health and Human Services Secretary in President Bush's first term.

2. A search is underway in North Carolina for the killers of two police officers. Police say the officers were shot overnight during a struggle with the suspect in Charlotte. They were responding to a disturbance call. Authorities say at least two suspects are being sought.

3. Senator John McCain says the American public is not getting a full picture of life in Iraq. He made a stop in Baghdad today. McCain says he sees progress in the security crackdown including a drop in murders.

4. Thousands of Christians observed Palm Sunday in Jerusalem. The day is the beginning of the Christian's Holy Week. Marchers waved palm fronds and flags as they made their way from the Mount of Olives to the Old City. Christians say that is the path that Jesus took when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

1. Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is a moveable feast in the church calendar observed by Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians. It is the Sunday before Easter. In the Western church it must always fall on one of the 35 dates between March 15 and April 18. This year it was observed on April 1.
