1. President Bush opened the Memorial Day weekend with a call for Americans to rededicate themselves to the war on terror. He's also asking everyone to pray for the troops overseas and remember those who lost their lives on the battlefield.

2. Meantime, Vice President Dick Cheney spent part of the day preparing the army's next generation of leaders. He gave the commencement address at West Point today where he told the graduating class that the country is counting on them to defend the homeland.

3. Scientists are giving two whales lost in the Sacramento Delta the weekend to themselves. The pair is some 70 miles upstream from the Pacific and scientists say they plan to wait until next week before they try to coax them out.

4. It's not your typical canvas, but these models don't seem to mind. Call it living art. A group of painters ply their trade on this group of volunteers in Mexico. The creator of the exhibits says most first come out of curiosity, but are won over by the artwork.
