1. A federal judge has ruled Dylann Roof, the man accused shooting and killed 9 people at a black church in Charleston last year, is competent to stand trial, clear the way for jury selection to start on Monday. 

2. Holiday shoppers are fighting for crowds, looking for deals on Black Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Messi says traffic at the Flagship store in New York is encouraging and retailers hope cold weather could boost the sale of winter items over the next few weeks. 

3. At least 43 people are dead and some 100 people have been injured in a train accident in northern Iran. Iran's state media says the accident happened when a moving train carrying passengers collided with a second train that was parked on the tracks. 

4. The holiday season's begun at the White House, the final one for the Obamas with the arrival, of a 19-foot fir tree from Wisconsin. First lady Michelle Obama joined by two of her nephews received the tree which will stand in the White House blue room.
