1. John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth has died. The 95-year old was the last survivor of the original Mercury 7 astronauts who were onto long career in U.S senate. 

2. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to pick fast-food executive Andrew Puzder to lead the labor department. Puzder heads the parent company of Carl's Jr., Hardee's and other chains. His selection will bring other wealthy business persons and elite donors to Trump's cabinet. 

3. The U.S surgeon general is calling e-cigarettes as an emerging public health threat to the nation's youth. Surgeon general, Vivek Murthy acknowledged a need for more research into health effect of "Vaping". But he said e-cigarettes aren't harmless and too many teens are using them. 

4. And hundreds of people packed into Arabic Israeli city Nazareth to watch the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Nazareth holds a cherished place in Christianity as what is according to the tradition, Jesus Christ grew up.
