This is AP news minute.

1.  Officials say that Russia's ambassador to Turkey has died after been shot by an Ankara police officer. Ambassador Andrey Karlov was speaking on an embassy sponsored exhibit, when a man dressed in a suit and tie fired at least 8 shoots. 

2.  From Pennsylvania to Georgia,  demonstrators marched outside state capitals in protest of Monday's Electoral College voting. Protesters carried science and chant slogans in the hopes of encouraging electors to cast votes for Hillary Clinton. 

3. Chicago just missed breaking a record Monday morning, but was still cold enough to close nearly 300 schools, cancel dozens of flights and slow trains. A low of minus 13 was recorded at Ohio international airport between 4 and 5 AM. 

4.  And the Finnish Santa Claus and a Russian grandfather Frose met at the Finnish-Russian border to exchange gifts on Monday. The annual event celebrates the friendship between two neighbors, includes traditional dancing and singing by performers of both countries.
