1. A Berlin Christmas market reopened on Thursday after a man ran a truck into the packed stalls on Monday, killing dozens people and injured scores of others. Meanwhile, the search for the suspect in the attack is still underway. 

2. The Syrian military announced Aleppo has returned to government control, ending a four-year rebel hold over parts of the city. It represents a momentous victory for Syria president Bashar Assad and a crushing defeat for Syria's opposition. 

3. President-elect Donald Trump has named former republican national committee spokesman Sean Spicer as his press secretary. He also elevated close campaign adviser Kellyanne Conway to a senior west-wing position as his White House counselor.

4. Police in Thailand rescued two baby orangutans on Wednesday and arrested a wildlife trafficker who tried to sell them online for $20,000. An undercover officer posted as a buyer and found the two baby orangutans just few month-old inside a plastic bag.
