俄罗斯银行购买EADS股份(在线收听

A Russian bank has been buying shares of EADS, the parent company of European aircraft company Airbus. According to the Russian newspaper Vedomosti, the state-owned Vneshtorgbank has spent a billion dollars on 4.5% of EADS. The bank has not publicly announced the stock purchase, but is required to inform Dutch authorities if they own 5% of the company. EADS is incorporated in the Netherlands, but is run by a consortium from several European countries; the purchase will revive discussions of the possibility of Russia joining the consortium. EADS and Boeing have both increased their Russian investments as they see Russian commercial airplanes become older and in greater need of replacement.
