通用汽车不会加入雷诺-日产联盟(在线收听

US auto maker General Motors will not become part of the Renault-Nissan alliance. Instead of continuing their negotiations until October 15th, as they had announced, GM chief executive Rick Wagoner called Carlos Ghosn, who runs French auto company Renault (which has a controlling interest in Japanese carmaker Nissan) to tell him that they were not interested in further negotiations after Renault rejected GM's request that Renault pay several extra billion dollars for all the value that GM claimed to bring to the alliance. Renault representatives have talked of seeking an alliance with a different American partner, but have not named one; because of Daimler Benz's 1998 acquisition of Chrysler, Ford is the only remaining "Big Three" American auto maker that can help Renault and Nissan compete more strongly against Toyota in the United States.
