BP阿拉斯加油田再次开门(在线收听

British Petroleum has put someone new in charge of their operations in Alaska, where they spilled 800,000 gallons of oil in March and where they shut down the biggest oil field in the United States in August because of pipeline corrosion. BP is the largest oil and natural gas producer in the United States. Doug Suttles, who was in charge of BP's operations on Russia's Sakhalin island, will be the new head of the Alaskan unit. He replaces Steve Marshal, who is moving into a new position just created by BP: vice president of a BP training academy, where he will focus on operational issues such as safety. Safety is a big issue with BP's U.S. operations since 15 workers were killed at a BP refinery in Texas; a new report by the U.S. Chemical Safety Board says that BP was aware of "significant safety problems at the Texas City refinery" well before the explosions.
