  I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that China will uphold the banner of peace, development and cooperation, and adhere to the principle of safeguarding world peace and promoting common development. We will unswervingly take the road of peaceful development and implement a strategy of opening up for mutual benefit and win-win situation, actively develop friendly cooperation with all countries on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, actively participate in efforts by the international community to deal with the global financial crisis and climate change, and strive to build a harmonious world with lasting peace and common prosperity.
  借此机会,我愿郑重重申,中国将高举和平、发展、合作旗帜,恪守维护世界和平、促进共同发展的外交政策宗旨,始终不渝走和平发展道路,始终不渝奉行互利共赢的开放战略,坚持在和平共处五项原则的基础上同所有国家发展友好合作,继续积极参加应对国际金融危机、气候变化等问题国际合作,同各国人民一道推动建设持久和平、共同繁荣的和谐世界。
  At this moment on this planet we inhabit, there are still people who are suffering the effects of war, poverty, sickness and natural disasters. The Chinese people have great sympathy for their pain, and are always willing to do all we can to help them overcome the difficulties. I believe, with sustained efforts of people of all countries, the world civilization is sure to progress, and the humanity's well-being is certain to improve.
  此时此刻,在我们共同生活的这个星球上,还有不少民众正蒙受着战争、贫穷、疾病、自然灾害等苦难的煎熬。中国人民深切同情他们的不幸境遇,将一如既往向他们提供力所能及的帮助。我相信,经过世界各国人民不懈努力,世界文明必将不断发展,人类福祉必将不断增进。
  In the year 2010, the World Expo will be held in Shanghai, with a theme of "Better City, Better Life". We warmly welcome friends from all around the world to participate in this great event, and to compose a new chapter of promoting understanding and friendship with us.
  2010年,以“城市,让生活更美好”为主题的世界博览会将在中国上海举行。我们热忱欢迎五大洲的朋友们共襄这一盛举,共同谱写增进相互了解和友谊的新篇章。
