Chris Colaluca of Mohawk Junior High School in Pennsylvania is not your typical student. Chris suffers from spina bifida and is not able to attend class in person. But this does not stop him. He is able to take classes thanks to his robot. The robot is called Vgo. It is about four feet tall and quite agile. Chris operates Vgo from his home. Chris’s teachers and classmates are able to see Chris’s face on the screen of the robot. During the class his teacher can ask him questions and he can answer them like the other students . He can easily interact with his classmates too. Chris has mastered the controls of the Vgo so well that he can change classes with his classmates at the end of the lesson. He can even go to lunch with them.

To implement the technology only cost the school 5,000 dollars. Of course at first teachers and staff were a little nervous, but now everyone is very comfortable with the system. No one is happier than Chris who says it is like a video game coming to life.
