1. The Trump administration remained steadfast about the decision to withdraw the U.S from Paris Climate Accord. EPA administrator Scott Pruitt said on Friday that country has "Nothing to be apologetic about".

2. China said the Paris agreement on Climate change represents the broadest consensus in the international community and should be Cherished. China is the world's highest emitter of manmade carbon dioxide.

3. Five countries have won uncontested elections in the UN general assembly to serve a two-year term on the security council. Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Kuwait, Peru and Poland all received a seat at the table. The 193-member assembly also voted for Netherland to join the council for one year.

4. National Spelling Champion 12-year old Ananya Vinay said on Friday the key to her success was lots of reading and studying foreign languages for two years. Vinay crowned champion of Scripts national spelling Bee contest on Thursday. The six grader is taking home more than $40,000 in cash and prizes.
