1. New indictments have been announced in Erie, Pennsylvania from a 2003 bank robbery. Brian Wells died after a bomb locked around his neck detonated. Before that happened he told police he was forced by gunmen to rob the bank. But indictments name Wells as a coconspirator

2. One worker has been injured by a fire at Miami International Airport’s ground traffic control tower. Firefighters contained the blaze in the vacant tower that was under construction. Crews were cautious though because propane tanks were resting on the roof.

3. President Bush has ordered his former White House counsel Harriet Miers to defy a congressional subpoena. An attorney for Miers has informed the House Judiciary Committee Chairman that Miers will not show up Thursday. The order for Miers to defy the subpoenas came in a letter from current White House counsel Fred Fielding.

4. Packing some snacks, a GPS device and more than 100 helium balloons, Kent Couch headed towards the Oregon sky in a lawn chair. The 47-year-old floated along for some nine hours when he jumped to the ground for his landing, the balloons took off again with his camera and gear.
