This comes amid violent protests connected to attempts by the country's president to extend his 27-year rule.

Blaise Compaore had been pressing the country's parliament to amend the constitution to allow him to run for another term in office.

The African Union has been expressing "deep concern" about the current situation in Burkina Faso.

The main opposition in Mozambique is rejecting the results of the presidential election there.

Opposition candidate Daviz Simango claims the election has been tained by violence and fraut.

Electoral authorities have declared Filipe Nyusi with the ruling Frelimo Party the winner of the Presidental election in the southern African country.

The Frelimo party, which has dominated the political scene in Mozambique since its independence, has also retained control of the parliament and the provincial assemblies.

Mozambique's Constitutional Council has 45-days to validate the results of the vote.
