2017年CRI Foreign experts laud 'powerful' CPC report(在线收听

The report for the 19th CPC National Congress has been released in nine foreign languages simultaneously with the Chinese version. Nine foreign experts from China's Central Compilation & Translation Bureau were involved in the translation work. They are language consultants for English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, German, Arabic, Portuguese and Lao.

During the translation process, the foreign experts gained a deep knowledge about what was written in the report, and what it will mean for China's future.

CRI's Fu Yu has more on their views of the report.

The nine experts had 10 days to work on the CPC report before the Congress convened on Wednesday. Konrad Hartmut Luening from Germany has lived and worked in China for more than 20 years. He says he has noticed daily life has become better and easier over the past 5 years.

"One of the things I've noticed is that transportation is becoming more and more simple and orderly. In terms of other achievements in people's lives, there are the facilities. When people go around, the high speed trains are everywhere; when they go on trips with family and friends, a network of highways covers everywhere. I would say China has made some very noticeable progress in a lot of sectors."

Other experts have noticed China has worked very hard on tackling air pollution. British expert Holly Snape says she hopes the goal for a Beautiful China will pave the way for global environmental protection.

"I think it will send a message to other countries about how China intends to move forward, what China is going to take more of a lead in doing. For example, in terms of the environment, there is a lot of determination conveyed in the report about things that are going to happen in China. Of course they will have a bearing on the rest of the world. Maybe they will promote more from the rest of the world as well to do more in terms of environmental protection."

Snape adds she felt more strongly about the CPC's vision and determination about how China will develop after reading Xi Jinping's report. Spanish expert Josep-Oriol Fortuny Carreras shares Snape's view and believes the report will receive positive reviews.

"I think other countries will react positively to China's willingness on cooperation in the international community. All the countries in the rest of the world will benefit from the results of China's development."

The report has also made an impact on Keovichith Lamngeun, who is a member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. The expert says the report is inspiring to him.

"After I read the report, it had direct influence on my way of thinking. The experience of China's leadership is very valuable. When I go back to Laos, I will introduce and share the experience. "

All nine experts describe the report "powerful" and are full of expectations for its impact.
