 I’ve used various techniques for goal setting throughout my career but after 30 years I’ve determined that it really comes down to a simple three-step process. 在我的职业生涯中我用过各种方式来设定目标,但30后我(还是)决定把它们归纳为简单的“三步曲”。

Step 1. Make a list of the categories important to you. Identify the areas of your life where you need to establish goals. 第一步:将你认为重要的(人生)范畴列在一张单子上。辨别出你生活中那些需要活出目标的地方。
Use the category list I just reviewed with you and add others that may be unique to your situation. 参照上面的列表,加上专属于你的一些情况。
Step 2. Follow the six basic elements that I just reviewed. What are the BIG picture goals that are important for you to achieve? 第二步:遵循六项基本要素。你将实现的几大人生目标都是什么呢?
Make sure they are written, specific, measurable, realistic, and have deadlines. 确保它们被记录得详尽、可行、真实,并且要有截止日期。
Step 3. Put together your plan. A well-developed action plan clarifies the things you need to do in order to achieve your goal, 第三步:组织好你的计划。一个设计好的可行方案会令你:清楚地知道哪些事情能帮你实现目标,
it outlines a prioritized sequence of steps and serves as a method of measuring your progress to ensure that you are on the right track. 大致要先做什么后做什么,保障你的每个进程都行在正轨上。
