When we invite people over for dinner at 6:30, it is not uncommon for my wife to have dinner ready at 6:30 如果我们邀请人们6点半参加聚会，通常情况下我的妻子会在6点半把晚餐准备好。

If you are attending a dinner, you don't want to be the person who is noticeably late. 如果你参加晚宴，最好不要是那个来的太晚的。

Being on time is a good way to show your respect for their schedule. 按时到表示了你对主人的尊敬。

I would also recommend to not come early.If you are, maybe come five minutes early. 我还建议不要来得太早。你或许可以早到5分钟。

But often times at parties people are trying to set things up all the way to the last minute.And sometimes people come early is a little bit of turn off. 但是通常情况下，直到最后一分钟主人还在忙活。所以有时候去的太早会有些扫兴。

4.Bring A Gift- When you are invited to attend a party or dinner engagement at someone's home, it's a nice practice to bring a little gift for the host. 4.带上礼物。当你被邀请参加聚会时，带一件礼物是很好的做法。

It could be a bottle of wine, a small inexpensive flower arrangement or something as simple as a card. 可以是一瓶酒、一小束花或者只是简单地一张卡片。

A little gift is a nice way of showing your appreciation for the effort put into the event and for being included. 一件小礼物代表着你对主人的辛劳和对你的邀请的一种感激。

And as you select these gift,just think about what you feel appropriate for that host. 选礼物时你应该考虑一下送什么礼物比较合适。

5.Upon your arrival offer to help-When you arrive, ask if there is anything you can do to help. 5.到了之后提议帮忙。当你到后，问一下有没有什么需要你的帮忙。

There are almost always last minute things that need to be done and your offer will be appreciated. 可能有很多最后扫尾的事情需要做，你的提议会让主人感到欣慰。

If there isn't anything to do, you can bet your offer will make an impression. 如果没有什么需要帮忙的，至少你还能留下一个好的印象。

6.Be Attentive To The Things You Can Do To Help-When you attend events with family and "close" friends, look for the things you can do without being asked. 6.留意你能帮到忙的事。当你参加家人和朋友的聚会时，留意一些你可以帮到忙的事情，不要非等主人问你。

It could be cleaning up glasses laying around or taking out the trash that is overflowing. 你可以帮忙收拾散乱的酒杯或者把装满的垃圾袋扔出去。

My wife and I always appreciate those who pitch in to help without having to be asked. 我妻子和我都很欣赏那些主动这样做的人。

7.Help Clean Up-If you attend a party at someone's home, offer to help with the clean up. 7.帮忙打扫。如果你去某人家里参加聚会，提出要帮忙收拾。

If they decline your offer, simply say, "I would enjoy helping you clean up.Would you please allow me to help you?"  如果他们拒绝了，你可以说：“我想帮忙收拾。就让我帮忙好吗？”

When they accept your offer, help them clean up until the job is finished or until your host wants to take a break. 如果他们同意了，帮他们一直收拾完或者主人想休息一下，你也可以中间休息。

If they decline your help because they would rather continue the conversation in another room, ask them again when the party is over. 如果他们因为想去另一间房聊天而谢绝了，那么聚会结束时再问一次。
