The Senate passed two resolutions rebuking Saudi Arabia, and President Trump's approach to the desert kingdom. One resolution calls for the US to stop supporting the Saudi-led war in Yemen. The other blames Saudi crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman for the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

French authorities say the suspect in this week's shooting in Strasbourg died in a shootout with police. 3 people were killed and 13 wounded in the attack on Strasbourg's famous Christmas market.

A police officer and a suspect both died after a shooting near Atlanta. Police say the suspect fled from a traffic stop and then traded gunfire with officers.

Michelle Obama visited a children's hospital in suburban Denver. The former first lady read from "The Night before Christmas", answered questions and encouraged Santa Claus to dance.
