A commuter train struck and killed two Chicago police officers on Monday. The officers were pursuing a person who had headed toward the tracks after a report of gunshots.

The National Weather Service forecasts more powerful dangerous surf in parts of California on Tuesday. Massive waves were spotted at many beaches on Monday.
