A weather system in the Gulf of Mexico could become a hurricane, and head for Louisiana in the next few days. New Orleans mayor has declared the state of emergency, out of concerns of flash floods, and the Mississippi River possibly overflowing.

Labour Secretary Alex Acosta says when he was US Attorney, he got the toughest possible plead deal involving financier Jefferey Epstein. Acosta has been criticized for letting Epstein avoid federal charges from molesting teenage girls.

Boston authorities say a patient riding in an ambulance stabbed an emergency medical technician several times. The EMT was hospitalized. The patient, described as emotionally disturbed, was arrested.

And construction of a giant telescope resumes next week on a mountain located on Hawaii's Big Island. But some native Hawaiians consider the site sacred and oppose it.
