Winning isn't everything

获胜不是一切

It was near the end of the football match, and neither team had scored.

本场足球临近尾声,双方没有射进一球。

The captain of the Eagles passed the ball to a teammate, and then ran down near the Kangaroos'goal.

老鹰队的队长把球传给了队友,然后向袋鼠队的球门跑去。

His teammate passed the ball back to him, but the shot was too high.

他的队友把球传回给他,但是踢出去得有点高。

The Eagles' captain knocked the ball to the ground with his hand, and then kicked it and scored.

老鹰队的队长用手把球挡了下来,接着踢并射门得分。

The referee blew the whistle; the match was over and the Eagles had won.

裁判吹响了哨子;比赛结束了,老鹰队赢得了比赛。

Of course, the goal should not have counted. However, now it was too late.

当然,这个进球不应该算数。但是,已经太迟了。

Later, a reporter asked the Eagles' captain what had happened.

后来,一位记者问老鹰队队长发生了什么事情。

'We won, and that is all that matters,' the captain said.

“我们赢了,这就是所有的事情,”队长说道。

The Kangaroos were out of the tournament, while the Eagles continued on.

袋鼠队比赛出局了,而老鹰队继续比赛。

However, with the referees now keeping a close watch on the Eagles, they struggled and lost their next match.

然而,在裁判严密地监视下,他们踢得很费劲并输掉了第二场比赛。

Afterwards, they complained that the referees had been unfair.

后来,他们抱怨说裁判不公平。
