Charity for Pot! Australian Couple Donates $33.7 Million for Weed Research

But Australian couple Barry and Joy Lambert has made a whopping A$33.7 million donation to an Australian university for research into medical cannabis.

但是澳大利亚的兰伯特（Lambert）夫妇向悉尼大学捐赠了一笔3370万澳元的巨款，用于医用大麻的研究。

The generous gift is the largest donation ever received by Sydney University, and the couple hopes it puts Australia at the forefront of medical cannabis research.

这笔善款是悉尼大学迄今为止收到的最大一笔私人捐款，这对夫妇希望可以借此为澳大利亚医学大麻前沿性研究出一份力。

Barry said in a statement that "Our vision is to make Australia a world leader in researching how to realise the powerful medicinal potential of the cannabis plant,"

The main ingredients of marijuana, known as cannabinoids — tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) — have helped those who suffer from epilepsy and reduced the number of seizures.

大麻的主要成分为大麻素——四氢大麻酚和大麻二酚，可以帮助那些患癫痫的病人减轻痛苦和降低癫痫病情发作。
