1. An ice storm continues to wreak havoc on the Midwest. Hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses are in the dark and flights are being cancelled. At least 23 deaths are blamed on the storm that moved into the nation's midsection over the weekend.

2. Car bombs exploded just minutes apart in Algeria's capital. The blast heavily damaged UN offices and partially ripped the facade off a government building. At least 22 people including UN workers were killed.

3. The Federal Reserve cut a key interest rate today by one quarter of a percentage point. It's an effort to keep the country out of recession. This is the third rate cut in the past three months. And Fed officials say more are possible.

4. Check out this police officer strutting his stuff. He is a retired Providence police officer who is known as the "Dancing Cop". It's become a holiday tradition for him to show off his moves while directing traffic.
