Chelsea Manning was planning to speak in Sydney on Sunday, but the event organisers say the federal government has issued a "notice of intention" to refuse her a visa.

A new report has called for a rethink of the way the childcare sector is regulated to make it more affordable for parents. The analysis by the Centre for Independent Studies says childcare is becoming less affordable despite billions of dollars in federal government subsidies paid to parents. It found national standards for staff qualifications are pushing up costs for childcare providers, which are being passed onto parents in the form of higher fees.

In the tweet, Mr. Trump said he truly appreciate Mr. McGahn's service. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Mr. McGahn has cooperated extensively with the Muller investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election.
