Sri Lanka's Government has acknowledged it had prior information of a plan by a little-known Islamist group to attack churches but didn't do enough to step up security. At least 207 people have been killed and more than 450 injured in a series of terror blasts targeting churches and hotels. Police raided a house in Colombo said to be occupied by suspects linked to the attacks. Three officers were killed during the operation.

The bodies of a five-year-old girl and a 35-year-old father have been found off the coast of South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. The pair were swept off rocks into the water of Cape Carnot, near Whaler's Way Sanctuary, about 40km south of Port Lincoln yesterday afternoon.
