Most of those affected tonight are in Michigan but also reportedly in Georgia, Texas and Arizona. GM CEO Mary Barra insists downsizing and shifting production including to Mexico is critical to the company's future.

General Motors is an entity that has not just a three or four or five year future but has a three or four or five decade future and beyond.
