Don't do anything that the dad does not like.

Be kind and have a lot of manners.

It's always helpful to be extremely polite.

Always treat him with respect, kindness-that might lighten him up a little bit.

Find out what you have in common and then do it. You can kind of bond so that he actually likes you.

Find out from your girl what the father really likes. Does he like sports? At least it's some sort of ice breaker when you first see him.
