萧何知道人力资源部管理很多事务，他想进一步了解一些情况，于是他向托马斯询问了一些相关问题。

Xiao He: What does Human Resources Department do?

Thomas: Hiring, firing, training, insurances, benefits, retirement planes, salary, vacation.

Xiao He: They take care of a lot of things.

Thomas: Yes. But most of time, they provide assistances.

Xiao He: What do you mean?

Thomas: Say if the Engineering Department wants to hire a person, they will request HR to find candidates.

Xiao He: Yes?

Thomas: The Engineering Manager and his team will interview the candidates. HR will also be involved with the interview, but basically arranging the schedule and explaining the benefits.

Xiao He: OK.

Thomas: Then the Engineering Manager will choose the candidate.

Xiao He: I see.

萧何：人力资源部是做什么的？

托马斯：招聘、解聘、培训、保险、福利、退休、工资和休假。

萧何：他们管理很多事情。

托马斯：是的。但是他们大多数时间在提供帮助。

萧何：什么意思？

托马斯：比如工程部门要雇一个人，他们会要求人力资源部寻找候选人。

萧何：然后呢？

托马斯：工程经理和他们部门的人会给候选人面试，人力资源部也会参与面试，但是主要是安排日程和解释福利。

萧何：哦。

托马斯：然后工程经理挑选一个候选人。
