Severe weather in the southwest of U.S and northern Mexico has killed at least 19 people and caused wide spread destruction. Most of the confirmed deaths are in the Mexican border city of Acuna which was hit by a tornado. Our American desk editor Leonardo Russia reports. “At least 16 people have died in he Acuna after the city was hit by the tornado in the earlier hours of Monday. Hundreds of homes were destroyed. In Texas, 3 people are known to have died, another 12 are reported missing after their holiday home was swept away by flood water. The governor of Texas Greg Abbott said it was the worst flooding the state has seen. And in Oklahoma, a firefighter died when he was swept into a storm drain. The Russian military has began a massive exercise involving around 250 aircraft and their defence system. A defense ministry statement said around 12,000 soldiers are taking part in the 4-day drill. It also said the long range Russian bombers would launch cruise missiles at practice target in a range of thousands of kilometers eastern of Moscow.
